Ranking Traffic Exchanges

Inside the members area you can see the new Affiliate Funnel ranking icon. Remember to click it once a week and get your voice heard! I don’t see the results so don’t feel bad if you don’t think StartXchange is a 10. If that is the case however you can always post some suggestions in the forum =P

Speaking of Rankings..  I just wrote a 866 word post on my blog that’ll hopefully convince you that rankings are just for fun! I didn’t realize it would be that long when I first started writing, but I hope you enjoy!

Team Winnings

There was a bit of a mix up with the team winnings, but it was fixed up today. The winners in the average surfing category got prizes, but the winners in the loyalty points didn’t. Oh wait, but we dropped the average surfing category? =P I didn’t reverse the prizes for those who won in that category, but I did add prizes for the loyalty point winners. Wow, New Surfbar Icons!

The feedback has been great..  The colored icons are a hit! If you haven’t seen them yet, you need to start surfing!  I’m getting feedback across the board that it’s much easier to surf now.  Whether you need glasses, or are color blind, these new icons should help ease the surfing experience.

Making StartXchange Easier to Use

So a big thing for many surfers was the surfbar icons. They were having trouble distinguishing between the shapes.  Now that it’s easier, I’m looking for ideas on the rest of the site! How StartXchange keeps surfing CLEAN!

I have been doing much research on browser exploits and javascript obfuscation, and integrating it into the website scanner. The results speak for themselves, I’ve built a very sophisticated script that is doing great! It is so powerful in fact, that I get replies from website owners saying that the checker is wrong because they don’t see the problem. That’s because it’s been obfuscated, and they can’t find it!

I’ve been thinking about offering it as a service, and I’d like your input on it!

Welcome to the New Year!

Well time is flying, so I didn’t realize it has been so long since I last sent out a newsletter update! In fact, looking back now I forgot to even send out the marathon update! I think I might have sent the email out in the “non newsletter” format.

View the Activity Graph

You can see how many people were surfing over the last 2 hours by viewing the activity graph on the member pages. It’s that image that says “Max 200″. That means the graph maxes out at 200. There was quite the discussion about it in the forum, as it isn’t labeled very well. The reason is it needs to be small to not get in the way of the rest of the menu =P

Marathon Update

Much of the feedback in the surveys resulted in many members saying they wouldn’t be able to make it. So I’ve decided to increase the window in which you can start surfing. Oh and I also added another grand prize…  1 Year Hosting - Domain Included!

Team Competition Change - Jan 1st

Starting in January the total surfing contest will be replaced by a loyalty contest. It works like this, every time a member of a team surfs 20 pages in a day, that team gets a point! So even those who can’t surf all day long can help their team win!

Terms Of Service Change - Jan 1st

Starting in January you will no longer be allowed to sell traffic earned for free (surfing, referring, prizes, etc). If you are running a coop or similar service, it’s gotta be run off purchased traffic.  You can include free traffic as long as the majority is purchased. You cannot advertise packages of hits from StartXchange, or mention StartXchange unless it’s in a list of exchanges (ie: No “100 hits from StartXchange” kind of thing).

Referral Splash Credits

Right now you can earn free traffic by advertising StartXchange on other exchanges. In January this will be changing, the exact way is unknown at the time. You’ll still get rewarded for it, but not with as many credits as of now.
